Abstract: Several recent papers considered the high-friction limit for systems arising in fluid mechanics. We consider a combined system of Euler, Euler--Korteweg and Euler--Poisson equations with friction and exponential pressure with exponent γ>1. We rigorously derive the scalar diffusive equation as a limit of the Euler like equation using the relative entropy method. The proof is formulated for dissipative measure-valued solutions of the Euler like equation which are known to exist on arbitrary intervals of time.
