INFORMATION
- According to the study program, students are obliged to pass elective courses of their own choice, cf. the menu tab Study programs.
- Student is obliged to select courses from the offerings of elective courses specified for a given field of study.
- Student is obliged to enrol for selected elective courses through their own account in the USOSweb platform, Registration tab.
- Elective courses for the exact number of ECTS credits specified in the study program have to be selected. The selection of elective courses for a higher number of ECTS credits, without the Dean’s consent, results in the charging of fees for additional courses in accordance with the Rector's resolutions.
- It is permissible to exceed the total number of ECTS credits by at most 2 ECTS credits, unless the elective course at the level of 2 ECTS credits is available.
- The elective course can be selected only once during the whole course of the study at University of Lodz, at Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (1st degree and 2nd degree).
- The Dean decides to start classes for the specific elective course.
- If the minimum enrolment limit for a course is not reached, the course is removed from the elective courses offering. Students enrolled in an elective course that is removed due to the enrolment limit not being met is required to enrol in another elective course selected from the updated list of elective courses.
- Enrolment on the elective course means that student is obliged to attend classes and earn credits.
- Student who does not receive credits for the elective course is required to repeat the elective course for the same amount of credits.
- According to the study program, see the menu tab 'Study programs' from the academic year 2023/2024, the first-degree students of Computer Science are obliged to pass 2 elective blocks of their own choice. Elective Block 1 must be completed during the second year, Elective Block 2 must be completed during the third year.
- During e-registration, the student is obliged to enrol in the chosen elective block through their own account on the USOSweb platform, Registration tab.
- During e-registration, the student is obliged to select only one block from the offer of elective blocks specified for the degree program. The block must be completed throughout the study year.
- An elective block can be selected only once during the entire course of study at the University of Lodz, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
- It is not possible to change the elective block during the academic year. In justified cases (dean's leave, student exchange, programme differences, etc.), General Computer Science, Programming, Computer Networks elective blocks may be partially implemented with the dean's approval.
- The Dean decides whether a block of electives is to be taught in the academic year in question.
- The minimum number of students required to run an elective block/group is 20 applicants.
- If the minimum enrolment limit for a block is not reached, that the block is removed from the elective blocks offer. Students who have enrolled in an elective block that has been removed because the enrolment limit has not been reached must enrol in another elective block selected from the updated list of elective blocks.
- If the minimum enrolment limit for a group in a block is not reached, that group will be removed from the elective block offering. Students who have enrolled in an elective block from which a group has been removed because the enrolment limit has not been reached are must enrol in another elective block.
- Enrolling in a block of elective courses means that the student is required to complete all the courses listed in the block.
- A student who fails to obtain credit for a course from a given block is obliged to repeat the course. In the case of repeating a course from a block, the student must repeat the course as long as it is offered in the following academic year and there are places available in the group. If the course is not offered in the following academic year, the student is required to choose a course from the GCS elective block (i.e. General Computer Science elective block) for the same number of credits.
- Students qualified for the Erasmus mobility exchange program must select one block from the following blocks: General Computer Science, Programming and Computer Networks. In such cases, it is necessary to obtain approval for half of the block. An application to this effect must be submitted to the Student Office. Students who meet the criteria for the Erasmus exchange program are advised to contact the Faculty ECTS Erasmus Coordinator.

Registration for Elective Block
- students of Bachelor Degree Program
Electronic registration for elective blocks in the academic year 2025/2026 will be open on USOSweb platform
from 12.05.2025 8:00 AM
till 16.05.2025 8:00 AM.
Electronic registration for elective blocks will be available to the students of I degree (Bachelor Degree).
Student are obliged to select only one block from the offer of elective blocks.

Registration for Elective Courses

Electronic registration for elective courses in the academic year 2025/2026 will be open on USOSweb platform

Electronic registration for elective courses will be available to the first year students of II degree (Master Degree).
Students are obliged to select elective courses for the winter semester 2025/2026 and the summer semester 2025/2026.
